I’m still not quite sure if I should share this here with you: it feels like being naked! But Yukitchen is my very first online project that I built back in 2013, and it was the very beginning of my art-making journey. I didn’t know anything back then. I just wanted to make cute vegetarian recipes, and I needed a website.

I painted these illustrations for my website called yukitchen.com, and I’ve discovered so much about myself via Yukitchen. I knew I enjoyed cooking, but I never even imagined feeling so pleasureable painting my own artworks and upload them on my own website for you to see. I felt so original.

I know those look like some kids draw them! But who cares? I never knew I had an inner child living inseide me, screaming to myself to express her needs and wants. It was so nice meeting her via my art.

Those characters I draw, by the way, are non-fictional. In fact, they are/were quite a huge part of my life growing up. Here are the real photos of them! *giggles*
